Cristina Palacios-Gomez is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Cristina is a first-generation Mexican-American who was raised in Fresno, CA. In order to give back to her community, Cristina pursued her Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and a minor in Philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2018. Afterwards, she earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fresno Pacific University-Biblical Seminary in 2023. Continuing her education, Cristina is certified in Level 1 Gottman-Couples therapy and in
Acceleration Resolution Therapy (A.R.T) for trauma.
Growing up in the Central Valley, Cristina has dedicated several years to volunteering and working with communities, including the unhoused population, mentoring teenagers in the Catholic faith, and teaching ESL to low-income high school students. Most recently, Cristina spent 3 years working as a rehabilitation specialist/case manager for foster youth and young adults. Through these experiences, Cristina gained a fundamental understanding of the need to serve others where they are in life and treat others with respect, care, and compassion.
As an AMFT, Cristina Palacios works with individuals, couples, and families and specializes in treating teenagers and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship stress, and borderline personality disorder. Cristina often utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which teaches four main skills: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Distress Tolerance. She employs A.R.T therapy, which processes traumatic memories utilizing bilateral eye movements. Cristina has provided therapy for about three years and is now license-ready. Cristina has worked closely with her clients to build trust, to provide support, and help them pursue their goals. As Cristina nears her journey to becoming fully licensed, she hopes to continue to build these qualities.
Cristina provides both in-person and telehealth appointments.
